Mobium - John Curtin College of the Arts

‘Mobium' is a series of integrated artworks that focus upon mathematics, pattern, movement, symmetry, and chaos. The artworks have been incorporated within the fabric of the building as sculptural screens that wrap the building's facade, perforated patterns that encase the stairwells and roof shrouds, embossed designs that adorn the concrete panels, plus a lit sculptural signage element.

This percent for art project offered a unique opportunity for a collaborative artwork of significant extent and impact. The elevated site with its views of the harbour required very thorough consideration. The sculptural screen that wraps the building is designed to frame the view and provide passive climate control, dynamically shading and filtering the heat from the sun.
